New hair!

My hair has been bothering me for quite some time. I have so much hair and I put it back in pony tails or clips daily and it has been giving me headaches lately. I never know what I want to do with it, but I was trying to grow it out so I could donate to locks of love again. But with how much it was hurting me I couldn't take it any longer, so I found a stylist and went in last night.

She was amazed by how much hair I have and suggested a technique to take some of the weight out (kind of like having it thinned, but better). I also asked about maybe getting some color since I've toyed with that idea since moving to Oregon, my hair has turned darker and dull since moving here. This is a HUGE step for me because I have never colored my hair before, nor I have I ever had the desire to until now. She suggested a reddish-auburn and told me of a new way to do it that isn't permanent, called a demi. That sounded great to me since I hate those grow out lines and this will eventually fade away in about 8 weeks. So I excitedly agreed and told her to not cut above the shoulders and that I didn't want bangs, but to otherwise do what she thought would look best on me.

It feels 5 pounds lighter, so crazy! Compared to how my hair felt before it now feels like I have almost nothing up there. It doesn't look like it has been thinned yet if you run your hands through it you can totally tell - she did a wonderful job. The color is very subtle and I like it. Next time I think I will be a little bolder and put more red in it.

Here is the best "before" picture I could find. Sorry it is so dark, this was taken outside on the 4th of July.

And here is the new me!

What do you think? Be honest.

I love it! It is so cute and summery and you make it look hot!!! It frames your face and the layers give it body. :)

Eliza it looks great! Isn't it liberating chopping it off? I did the same thing; wanted to do locks of love again, but couldn't stand it and it wasn't healthy anyway. Is it being a mom or leaving California that ruins our hair? Anyway, you look amazing.
