Week of July 29th

Monday 30
I went to physical therapy in the morning.  My joint was hurting pretty bad again.  She discovered it was out of alignment and she tried three times to get it back in and it wouldn't go.  She worked on the soft tissues and did some hip traction.  Nothing worked.  So then we did some ultrasound and electromagnetic therapy.  We weren't able to work on any exercises.  So I went home and she said she'd check with me the next day.

Daniel had fun riding around for a long while on his new bicycle.  He figured it out so quickly - so long tricycle!
One happy boy
Tuesday 31
Hip wasn't any better so my PT doc recommended I see the chiropractor.  Spent most of the day getting ready for vacation doing cleaning and laundry.  I snagged this picture of Lydia's first little tooth.  I'm glad I did as her second little tooth started coming in while we were on vacation.

Wednesday August 1
Got in to the chiropractor today and got adjusted.  Finished getting ready to go.

Thursday 2
We left for CA in the morning and arrived at 10:15 pm

Friday 3
We spent the day doing nothing.  Brent's parents took the boys to the Oakland zoo.  Brent and I did some hot tubing and shopping.  It was such a beautiful day and it was so nice to relax after the long week we've had.  I went and got a pedicure and manicure in the evening.  I haven't had a professional manicure since before I was married.  They didn't do a good job.  I feel like it was a waste of money and made the whole appointment go long which stressed me out.  But, at least I have pretty toes!

Saturday 4
I picked Teresa and family from the airport in the morning and then we headed to the beach around lunch time.  This was our only day to go to the beach and it was cold, overcast and it sprinkled rain! I thought, really? The one day in two years we get to go to the beach and it's cold?! - ARRGGHH!!! Well, my kids don't know any different and they had a blast anyway.   Daniel loved playing in the sand with his dump truck.  Jacob and some other boys quickly began work on making a mote to catch the water.  Brent, John and I played some frisbee and Lydia cuddled with anyone and everyone.

My longtime childhood friend, Melissa Marda (Malmgren), came with her family and met us at the beach.  It was so good to see her!  I've known her since 3rd grade and we see each other every 2-3 years or so.  Shortly after she left we packed it up and headed home.  As we were leaving the sun finally broke through the clouds.  Se La Vi.

Sunday 5
We spent the day relaxing with family.  We attended the Willow Glen ward where Brent grew up and his father is now the bishop.  The boys liked seeing grandpa up on the stand and Lydia kept smiling at him.  It's a small ward but a good one.  The testimony meeting was really neat and I enjoyed it.  Daniel had a hard time going to a new primary class and barely made it through.  Jacob (aka Mr. Social) did just fine.  We had a nice dinner all together and played games while talking and planning the upcoming week.  Lydia started showing signs of getting sick as the night went on.

Side Note:  I will add pictures as I can.  Our camera didn't take any so I'm waiting for family and friends to send me the pictures they took

I think playing frisbee on the beach was my favorite part of the trip.
